Sitko Family Racing's Season Getting Close
The season's getting close and the cars are down to all the little jobs. Both the dragster and the funny car will be testing at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton before heading off to the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series NHRA Division 6 Event in Mission, British Columbia.

Drag Racing World Loses Shoemaker
Long-time competitor and all around class-act, John Shoemaker, passed away after a racing accident in his Nostalgia Nitro Dragster yesterday at the March Meet. He was 65. John and his wife Judi had a long run in both the nitro ranks and in Top Alcohol Dragster. This included an NHRA Division 6 Championship in 1989. Sitko Family Racing's Ken Sitko was 2nd to John in the divisional points chase that year. He will be missed greatly by all in the drag racing community.

Hard At Work In the Shop
The boys have been super busy in the shop the last while and now, with the motors in both cars and the spare motors off to a start, the Sitko Family Racing crewmembers are getting quite excited for the road they are about to take. Tommorow, the teams will be fitting their foam seats.

Stickers Make the Cars Go Faster
On the sides of the dragster, fans will notice stickers from Paradise RV and Greg & Dawn Ettinger added. On the funny car, fans will notice stickers from Shane & Wilma Reykdal on the sides. We'd like to thank these contributers again for their support and we hope we can make them proud in 2008!

Team SFR Ready to Make Those Rule Changes
Not only will both Sitko Family Racing Top Alcohol cars have new performance-enhancing parts this year, but fans will see a different look on both cars. Both cars will have extra padding in the roll cage as well as foam-fitted seats, both from ISP and both a new rule in the Top Alcohol classes. The dragster and funny car have shrouds to protect the driver's heads from parts, debris and anything else that could work it's way up there. So, how does the team see the rule changes? Well, if it saves you once, then it was worth the price and the time!

Ken & Troy Arrive Home Safely
Ken and Troy Sitko arrived home safely with the new truck today. It's a 1991 Chevrolet Silverado 1 Ton Duallie. A thank you goes out to Darcy and Bernie Frey of Medicine Hat for their hospitality.

Troy's New Ride
Troy and Ken Sitko will be heading down to Medicine Hat this weekend to pick up a new truck. The primary use for this truck will be towing the dragster trailer and parts transportation. The team is looking to put more miles on this year, so the decision was made by Troy that he would buy a newer truck.

New Toys Arriving Soon
And these toys mean serious business. The new PSI screw supercharger for the dragster team should arrive this Monday at the Sitko shop, along with a ton of other parts and pieces for both cars! Excitement is brewing in the Sitko camp as the two teams are going to show that they are ready for the next step. Now, it's time to step up in order to get that major sponsor and make our next move towards the big leagues. A special thanks goes out to Greg & Dawn Ettinger, as well as Shane & Wilma Reykdal. And, Finally, The Work Begins
Work has begun on both the Top Alcohol Funny Car and the Top Alcohol Dragster. For a long while, the Sitko Racing team has been working hard on some other projects, mostly other people's racecars. The bad thing is that it delays our progress, but the good thing is that it makes it so we can afford to have progress. But, we've got plenty of time. The winter's are long in Alberta!

2007 Season Completed - New Site Coming Soon
Sitko Family Racing has successfully completed their first season as a two-car team! 2007 was great and 2008 starts with a fresh look for the website and some killer components being added to the racecars.
